Week 4

Trying new things in March (week 4)

Try a new hobby class. You could pick a fun one-time class like pottery, baking, rose pruning, or mosaic. Or you could sign up for a series of classes or workshops.

Try to solve a Rubik’s Cube. Watch a simple tutorial and learn a simple beginner method. If you don’t have much time, you could just try it for 10-15 minutes. If it’s an activity you like, you can keep working on it whenever you can.

Try a bread type you haven’t had before. There are so many types of bread you could try, including soda bread, milk bread, and focaccia. You could see what your local bakery has or try a new recipe at home. You could also pair it with some different types of jams or cheese for a simple tasting.

Take a photo of something new and interesting you see today. You could try to pick a theme (like interesting architectural details) or just take a few photos of interesting things throughout the day (like scenic views or a beautiful sunset) and then pick your favorite at the end of the day.

Get a new puzzle to work on. You could go for a new jigsaw puzzle or a logic puzzle you may not have tried before (e.g., Sudoku).

Try a new flavor of chocolate. You could have a chocolate tasting at home or just pick one new flavor you’ve never tried before. There are so many options with added spices (e.g., chili pepper, ginger, black pepper), floral (e.g., rose, lavender, jasmine, bergamot), or fruit (e.g., yuzu, mango, cherry). Some completely unexpected ones include smoked chocolate, basil chocolate, and olive oil chocolate.

Rearrange your bedroom. Try a layout you haven’t tried before, moving at least one item in the room to a different location. You could also create an additional cozy spot (like a chair with a cushion and a reading lamp) if you have the room.
