Going Somewhere
Naturally, you’ll need to do a little research first before some of these ideas. What I’ve done is selected places you could go at times when they’re quieter, or places that don’t typically attract big crowds. Aquariums, for example, despite being open to the public, I find to be some of the most relaxing places to visit.
- Go for a beach stroll at sunset.
- Watch a drive-in movie.
- Go to an observatory deck.
- Go on a ghost tour.
- Visit an aquarium.
- Go for a riverside or lakeside walk.
- Rent an RV and go for a road trip.
- Listen to vinyls at a record store.
- Watch an off-peak movie.
- Stay in a cozy cabin for the weekend.
You can get this list in PDF format here. Tick off the ones you’ve done, and make a note of the activities you really enjoyed so that you can do them again.
I really hope this list helps you out. So many after-work and weekend plans are formed around doing activities where there’s lots of noise, people, and other distractions. With this list, you can keep things calm, in your control, and still have lots of fun.
